The Avenue Gallery's Connecticut Affordable Art Fair!

Fairfield County "It!"

enjoyed the Opening Night
Private Viewing of

The Avenue Gallery's

"The Connecticut
Affordable
Art Fair"

in Norwalk, Connecticut.

As we entered the gallery we were greeted by artist Robert Abriola.
Robert is a
marketing executive by day and
creative artist by night.

He explained to us that his current artistic focus
is to work with
vibrant colors.
Here he is beside
"Passion Flowers".

I was struck by the beauty of the back of this horse.

We were delighted to talk with Betty Ball pictured here
with "Summer Bluff"
part of her "Land and Sea Series".

Below are her thoughts about her art.

"Light defines what we see. Light’s interpretive forms and transcendent qualities are at the heart of my work. I make art that is observational, beautiful, sensuous and open to interpretation."

One of my friends asked, "Is that Natalie Wood?" and I said,
"Yes, it is!"

Julie Headland,
the artist of this interpretation of Natalie Wood,
offers colorful portraits of famous images
and she could also do one of YOU!

We had the pleasure of bumping into Elisa Keogh.
She is both an artist and designer and works primarily with photographic images.

Each piece in her recent
“Memory Series”
is created by layering, ghosting and repeating multiple photographs (not necessarily taken from the same location) to compose a single scene.

The "Connecticut Affordable Art Fair"
offers a wide variety of great art work.

1st Annual

"Greenwich Art Gala
for Haiti"

in Greenwich, Connecticut

The Greenwich Art Gala showcased art from dealers
Saya IshiiVelazquez &
Suhayb Ibn MZarroug
in collaboration with
UNIK
and Greenwich native
Jen Danzi
for the
EDEYO Foundation

At the entrance we were greeted by this lovely sculpture the pondering "Fragile".

The event was full of art enthusiasts happily mingling throughout the three floor exhibition.

A noticeable work
was
this lively
purse
full of every shade of lipstick.

"Stick Up" Debra Franses Bean

We enjoyed listening to Robin Austin's effusive discussion about his art work. He creates images representative of different decades.

Here is gorgeous
Rita Hayworth.

If you look closely, you will discover her underlying face is composed of photographs from the 1950's.

The art work is stunning and Robin's passion for his work is delightful.

The chandelier within the stairwell was made of fragments of mirror.

A dazzling, contemporary abstract of shifting light.

I think Marilyn Monroe could be found on every floor of the house, but this was my favorite located in the lower level entertainment room.

Creative Cocktails and Wine were plentiful thanks to
Val's Putnam Wines & Liquors and
David Noto of
Altaneve Prosecco.

The Greenwich Art Gala was held in an attractive home built by
Frank DeLuca of Coastal Construction Group.

Afterward, we stopped by l'escale
at the Delamar Hotel
in Greenwich Harbor
and enjoyed being serenaded table side by the musical talent playing in the lounge!

Needless to say, it was a delightful evening out in Greenwich!

The Most Delicious Event - Taste of Westport!

Fairfield County "It!"

had a delightful and delicious time at

"Taste of Westport"

for the benefit of Clasp Homes

at The Westport Inn
in Westport, Connecticut.

The event was packed with foodie types eager to try the tasty libations and culinary creations.

Matt Criscuolo accompanied by Tony Purrone entertained with classy jazz ensembles
as we happily meandered through the food and silent auction items.

We were pleased to bump into Nube Siquenza who served up tasty bites from
Harvest Restaurant.

My friend squealed with
taste bud delight when she tried the clever small bite combinations.

We were in lobster heaven with the lobster rolls from soon to open Boothbay Lobster Company in Stamford.

I discovered Hummock Island and WOW, the oysters were fabulous!

We stopped by Da Pietro's table and spoke with Chef Pietro.
He offered us his lamb meatballs. Light and scrumptious.

Washington Prime whetted our appetite with bites of steak
accompanied by 5 sauces:
Chimchuri, Ommni,
Maple Truffle Chili,
WP Steak Sauce & Horseradish

My favorite,
the Maple Truffle Chili,
a complex mouthful of
sweet and earth
with steak.

I enjoyed this soft cheese ravioli from Bianco Rosso of Wilton.

Tacos Mexicos kept us coming back for "One more margarita please"!

The sushi from Matsu Sushi was fresh and wonderful!

Later in the evening we enjoyed One Anthem's duo featuring
front man Beto Petrillo,
offering his Brazilian influenced
spin on acoustic music.

Black Bear Wine & Spirits offered creative cocktails!

Garelick & Herbs served up a feast!

Greens Farms Wine & Spirits was well stocked with a variety of wines to choose from.

Rive Bistro offered a
roasted apple with mild sausage that paired very well together.

A friend recommended Acqua's basil infused meatball crostini.

He was talking them up to everybody!

Mionetto Prosecco kept us bright with bubbly!

Our sweet tooth was taken care of by La Rouge.

Seriously decadent bites of chocolate.

There were many wonderful items to bid on during the silent auction:

Art, a Billy Joel Concert, Limo and tickets to the Metropolitan Opera, a magnum of Altaneve Prosecco,
as well as numerous other highly desirable items.

It was a fabulous feast!

Here is a watercolor by Vivian Reed.

The exhibit was founded to honor
Vivian & Stanley Reed who were two of the original members of the Stamford Art Association and also avid sailors.

Both floors of the gallery were filled with sea inspired art and their artists.

I love walking thru jelly fish exhibits at Aquariums.
So beautiful and mystical.

I wanted to follow

"Misty Montauk".

We had a chance to talk to Joyce Grasso about her art.
Below is a beach scene she painted while in Florida.
She told me her art is about whatever the viewer interprets.

What I saw was Newport Beach, California
looking back across the bay
from the beach along the Pacific Ocean.
