a Feast for the Eyes - Art X 8 Visions & Revelations!

​Fairfield County "It!" had a fabulous time at

Art X 8 Visions & Revelations

 exhibiting art work from 8 exceptional award winning artists
curated by Trace Burroughs
at Carriage Barn Arts Center in New Canaan.

Below is a sampling of art work from 4 of the artists.

Nina found these well dressed dolls at a Vermont Flea Market.  
She said the person that sold them to her asked her how many she wanted and Nina said
"All of them".  

The store owner said she had been trying to sell them for 20 years.  

The dolls could not be put to better use! 

We started off viewing
Nina Bentley's art.
 
A friend that attended the event with me
​ upon looking at the art said
"Wow, is she angry" and
I responded "This is hilarious!"

Turns out the artist is not particularly angry,
but empathizes with other peoples angst and delivers their
frustrated message
in engaging & clever artistic representations. 

I loved it!   

We discussed Lenticular imagery  with artist
Miggs Burroughs.  

His interest in creating this type of art began with his fascination as a child with cracker jack toys that changed image.

​Depending on where you stand when looking at his art work
the image you see changes.  
In the above piece toddlers turn into adult criminals.  

Miggs said he worked hard to find toddler pictures with attitude, 
so you can see from the beginning they were headed for no good!

The Adam & Eve is a wonderful depiction of that
crucial apple decision
that determined the fate of
​ men and women.

Dan Long's art work depicts
his aging body expressed
through trees, leaves and roots.

Trace Burroughs
art work involved digital drawing, retouching and enhancement, composited to create a single digital image.

Other artists in the show included
Nancy Moore, Sue Benton, Arpad Krizsan and Michael Brenneke.

All of the artists were very skilled in their particular discipline
and the art work was a delight to view!

The show closes Friday February 18, 2017.  
Try to squeeze it in.  Its great!
