A Sunday Afternoon on the Lower East Side!

Fairfield County "It!" recently spent Sunday afternoon
enjoying a few Lower East Side art galleries
and finding a great place for brunch!

The Lower East Side in NYC
 offers over 70 art galleries located between
​East Houston to the North and Canal St to the South.  

An amazing concentration of galleries and emerging artists
within a reasonably short walking distance.  
​We visited three galleries.

We started at  
Rachel Uffner's,
170 Suffolk St, 
which featured a solo art exhibit on Roger White.

​Next we walked over to
Bureau,
178 Norfolk St,
to see art work from
Erica Baum & Libby Rothfeld.

We tried to get into
Clayton Gallery & Outlaw Art Museum at
161 Essex St,
but failed.  Door locked.  
​Will give it another try soon.

You can find a restaurant on almost every block.  
Diners to Upscale.  
Most are clever at some Culinary/Ethnic/Attitude level.  

We managed to get into
Beauty & Essex
on Essex St.  
​Beauty & Essex
is hidden behind a pawn/jewelry storefront.    

Inside you will find an attractively decorated multi room
1st floor bar and restaurant. 

After Brunch we climbed up a spiraling staircase to the second floor and discovered a lively party, with night club music,
light strobe candles and a lot of attractively dressed people.  

​I came down to the first floor and asked the hostess if they were throwing a private party on the second floor?  
She told me that was the Sunday "Champagne Brunch".  

So, if you did not have a chance to go out on Saturday night and are looking for a
2 am night club atmosphere
at 2 pm on a Sunday,
